Email Issues
As many
have observed, news update emails are now being sent a lot less often than was
the case a year or so ago.
This is a
result of them being tagged as ‘spam’ or blocked completely by certain Internet
Service Providers, seemingly based on content and / or send frequency. This
despite the fact that we have given assurances whenever required, that MAC
complies with conventionally accepted standards for email usage.
Consequently,
it is likely that we will have to constrain ourselves to no more than one a
month for the foreseeable future and include only immanent information items.
To keep
up to date with club matters therefore, please pay regular visits to this page
on our website.
Please also set your email receipt / viewing options so that any mail
from domain maidenheadac.co.uk is ‘allowed’ and presented into your inbox.
As has
been previously stated, we cannot and must not send emails on request. For
example, “could you email all members to say that I have a spare number for the
Humpty Half” is a definite no-no! Neither can we divulge members’ email
addresses, or any other personal data held on the membership database, to anyone
other than a club officer or governing body for bona-fide club or association
usage.

Clubhouse Update
Following ongoing communications between MAC’s Joe Middleton
and the council, we now have a draft lease that was scrutinized and approved at
a specially convened committee meeting on Wednesday 23/04/208. This draft
encompasses all the terms and conditions presented and approved at our EGM in
December 2007.
There is now a real chance that the lease proper can
be prepared and signed by both parties within the next month.
With regard to the building of the pavilion, council
representatives have informed us that work is now scheduled to start in June,
with completion in October 2008.

once again to Joe for all his efforts. Hopefully the brick-wall marks will soon
disappear from his forehead!

Notable Noughties Jazz Evening
Several distinguished MAC members, many of whom now
tick off decades as opposed to years, have ‘0’ birthdays this year. To
celebrate, they invite you to a jazz evening with Cookham’s own FABULOUS SHIRTLIFTERS on Saturday
24 May 2008, commencing 7.30pm at WAMDSAD. £10 entrance includes food. Cash bar available.

5k Series
Dates and venues for the 2008 races are now
available on the 5k Series page.
Our race is being held at Braywick on
Wednesday 25 June 2008. MAC members will only be allowed to run in this race if
we have sufficient helpers to manager the event. A helpers list has been posted
in the clubhouse.

First runner away at 09:30
This year the race will be run over the full Maidenhead
Easter 10 course, starting & finishing at Maidenhead Office Park
If you wish to run in the Helpers Handicap, enter your
details on the sheet in the clubhouse by 9th May. If you can’t make
it to the clubhouse, please email in your name and times for any recent 10km,
10 mile or half-marathon races. If you have not raced recently, please provide
a reasonable time estimate for completing the 10 miles.
NB. To qualify for
the Helpers Awards you must have helped with the organisation or
assisted on the day at the Maidenhead Easter 10.
If you ran in the 10 – please come along and
help on 18th May
